Friendship Home was established in 1979 in Zahleh which is situated in the Bekaa Valley. This area paid a high price during the war, and the Home was intended to help with redevelopment and improve solidarity in the area. Work began to assist children who where marred by conflict and the destruction of social structures.
Since the start of the project the work has diversified from simply looking after the children to education, social and culture awareness and training programs to help them enter the world of work.
The aims of the Home are to help those who are most in need, reconstruct the bonds broken in Lebanon and thereby make a small contribution towards the rebuilding of a peaceful country.
